Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr was overjoyed after his team won the Arab Club Champions Cup for the first time on Saturday.
"Extremely proud to have helped the team win this important trophy for the first time!" said the star player on microblogging platform X, now known as Twitter.
"Thank you to everyone at the club who contributed to this fantastic achievement, as well as to my family and friends for always being by my side!"
Our fans have been tremendously supportive! This is also yours!" he added.The team won the championship in extra time after defeating Saudi side Al-Hilal 2-1.
Al-Nassr had chances to score during the first half of the game, but goalkeeper Mohammed Alowais denied them.
Six minutes into the second half, Michael of Al-Hilal scored with a header after Malcom of Al-Hilal crossed the ball.
Ronaldo then equalized in the 74th minute after receiving a low cross from Sultan Al-Ghannam.
He then scored on a ricochet off the crossbar in the opening half of extra time. Top Arab clubs from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Morocco, Qatar, Algeria, and Tunisia compete in the Arab Club Champions Cup.
