Riley called her daughter Tupelo for a reason. Details are contained within.

In Vanity Fair's September issue, the Daisy Jones & The Six performer, 34, revealed that her daughter's name honors both Elvis Presley and her brother Benjamin Keough.

The new mom introduced her daughter as Tupelo Storm Smith-Petersen.

Keough said they first chose the first name because of its modest connection to her family.

“It’s funny because we picked her name before the Elvis movie,” Keough told the site. "

"This is great because it’s not really a well-known word or name in relation to my family—it’s not like Memphis or something."

After the Elvis movie, it was Tupelo everything. "Oh, no," said the actress and director. “It’s fine.”

Three years after her brother's suicide at 27 in Calabasas, California, her daughter was named "Storm" in his honor.

Keough and husband Ben Smith-Petersen had their first child via surrogacy in August. Smith-Petersen announced they had a daughter in January.
