We mourn K-9 Sasha's unexpected death. K9 Sasha died unexpectedly while boarding at a neighborhood vet on August 9, 2023.
K-9 Erich Grasso (Grasso Dog Training and Shepherds in Shelton, Connecticut) donated 5-year-old female German Shepherd Sasha to Franklin County's Sheriff's Office in 2018.
K9's United of Jacksonville, Florida, granted this connection.
K-9 Sasha's father and sister were NYPD patrol dogs and NBA bomb detection dogs, respectively.
Sasha was a drug tracker. During her time at the Sheriff's Office, K-9 Sasha helped seize thousands of dollars in narcotics and make many arrests.
She found numerous critically missing people and fugitives. Sasha was little but powerful.
Sasha's sudden death saddens this Sheriff's Office family. Please pray for her handlers, Deputy Patterson and Deputy Alejandro, as well as her human mama, Audrey, and her human sisters, Teagan and Dani.
To properly thank and farewell Sasha, we will hold a memorial service and tell the public.
