The Flash Movie's Streaming Release Breaks a Frustrating DC Record

When it streams on Max, The Flash will smash DC's irritating record.

With Marvel Studios lengthening the wait for recent movies and Universal's The Super Mario Bros. smashing that record on Peacock, theatrical-to-streaming windows have grown again.

Warner Bros. is yet to announce The Flash's Max streaming release date 53 days after its theatrical debut.

Max announced the streaming service's August additions at the end of July, and The Flash was absent.

By September, The Flash's theatrical-to-streaming window will be at least 77 days. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad were released on HBO Max the same day as they were in theaters.

The Flash's theatrical-to-streaming window will be the longest since Max (previously HBO Max) premiered.

Shazam! Fury of Gods' 67-day release coincided with the streamer's Max branding.Warner Bros. announced before The Flash's release that the film would air on Max in the fall, which begins on September 23.

The Flash will presumably arrive on Max in late September or early October. Before December's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, this will be enough time.
