The PlayStation 5 RPG Starfield outperforms Zelda on Metacritic.

2023 has already been a good year for video games, and it appears that before the end of the year, things will only grow better.

This year has definitely been one of the best in a long time, with Final Fantasy XVI, Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 remakes, Metroid Prime Remastered, Street Fighter 6 and more.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is, or was, at the top of Metacritic's list of the highest-scoring titles.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom presently has a magnificent score of 96, but it has just been dethroned by what could be the surprise hit of the year, Baldur's Gate III, which currently has a critic score of 97.

Tears of the Kingdom has an 8.4 user rating, while Baldur's Gate III from Larian Studios has a 9.4, meaning it outperforms the current Zelda game on two counts.

Baldur's Gate III is currently exclusively available on PC, with a PlayStation 5 release date of September 6th, which also happens to be the same date as Starfield.

It will be fascinating to see how its score performs when Baldur's Gate III is released on platforms.

As a result, Baldur's Gate III is now, at least temporarily, a PS5 exclusive. This will come in handy for Sony, as it will be competing with Bethesda's Starfield.
